Semi-Final Match-Up: New York Rangers v. Washington Captials

Moving on to the Eastern Conference match-ups now and first up is the number one seeded New York Rangers versus the number seventh seed Washington Capitals. (I seriously had a first round post for this match-up made already, but NO they just had to screw up the standing on that last day of the season. Thanks Jerks!)

New York Rangers
The Rangers incredible love for each other propelled my into the second round. Will they still be feeling the love when they have to face Braden Holtby?

"See Boyle this is why I have to pick out your outfits."

"Are you gonna give up on the fucking puck again?"
"No coach I swear. I'll do what you want just no more wedgies or headlocks please."

"Yea I'm the rock star on this team bitches!"
"Yea until you get traded to Columbus this summer."
"What?"
"Nothing."

The Rangers had a tough go against the Senators last round, squeaking out a game 7 victory. They will need their big guys to show up in order to take down Braden Holtby and the Caps.

Washington Capitals
New recruit special agent Holtby joined the force and became super cop number #1. But does this new hot shot have staying power, or will he be demoted to traffic duty?
 "We're in the second round?"
"We weren't even trying!"
"I know, we should barely make the playoffs more often."
"You see Braden I had a monster series. I mean I carried this team."
"Ummm OK Sasha whatever you say."
Coach Dale Hunter's new method of tossing scolding hot coffee on players that under perform has really turned this team around.

The Capitals pulled a huge upset dethroning the former champs. Their road doesn't get any easier however because now they have to face the number one seed New York Rangers. Holtby needs to keep up his run, and Ovi and Semin need to be major factors if they want to pull another upset.

The Match-Up

This series could be a very interesting goaltenders dual. Red-hot Braden Holtby helped the Caps upset the defending Stanley Cup champs, while Henrik Lundqvist is a Vezina and Hart nominee this season. Will the hot-streak continue for Holtby or will Hank shut it down? Both teams have highly skilled forwards, and they need to show up big time in this series.

Prediction
The team that wears red and blue wins.
